Exhibition of sculpture and painting by Asdrubal Colmenarez and Leon Levkovitch. PROM KULTURY, Warsaw, 23 Brukselska Street, 3 – 26 November 2023.

We would like to invite you to the vernissage of the exhibition of works by Asdrubal Colmenarez and Leon Levkovitch, which will take place at the Prom Kultury Gallery in Warsaw, Saska Kępa, 28 Brukselska Street, on 3 November at 7 p.m. in Warsaw. The curators of the project, Anna Kwiecińska-Marek (Paris) and Agnieszka Pawlak (Warsaw), inspired by their somewhat similar biographies on the one hand and the completely different expressions of the two artists on the other, have created a unique opportunity to show their selected works to a Warsaw audience. An unusual combination of circumstances is that both were born in 1936. Leon Levkovitch came to France from Poland in 1961 and Asdrubal Colmenarez arrived there in 1968. Both found their second homes in Paris in the 1960s, and both have been active ever since. They only met when working on our exhibition, in 2023. The concept of the exhibition is part of one of the research paths of our Society, at the beginning of which stand the questions that are still not fully clarified: who is the artist? what is the work of art?

Leon Levkovitch’s works come from the Warsaw collection of Mr and Mrs Krystyna and Andrzej Wawrzeńczak, while Asdrubal Colmenarez’s works come to the exhibition from Paris.
